Anthony Lanni is a New York City based 6 & 7-string guitarist and composer, with a focus on Brazilian and Italian music. Anthony is the band lead of the Brazil inspired "American Samba" band, Os Clavelitos, whose original music celebrates Brazil's rich musical heritage, combining Brazilian rhythms (samba, baiao, bossa nova, and frevo) with English lyrics. As band leader of Os Clavelitos, Anthony has written the music and lyrics for several of the band's tunes, and has led the band to success with their debut album, "Arriving", in both radio and press; hitting #1 on the RMR World Album Chart, placing #7 on the RMR Top World Albums of 2016, spending 10 weeks on the CMJ New World Top 40 Chart, and receiving enthusiastic reviews from many acclaimed publications (Cadence Magazine, Jazz Weekly, etc.). Os Clavelitos also perform traditional and popular Brazilian songs (samba, baiao, bossa nova, samba reggae) sung in Portuguese. The band often incorporates batucada (percussion ensemble) into their shows and are known for their upbeat, high energy performances that get people up and dancing!

As a soloist, Anthony performs his instrumental, solo guitar arrangements of traditional Brazilian songs (samba, bossa nova, baiao). Anthony's solo guitar performances include his own 6 & 7-string guitar arrangements of compositions by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Baden Powell, Vinicius de Moraes, Milton Nascimento, Ary Barroso, Jorge Ben, Walter Santos/Tereza Souza, and more. In addition, Anthony also performs his own solo guitar arrangements of traditional Italian songs; with arrangements on tunes such as "Anema E Core", "Roma Nun Fa La Stupid Stasera", "Estate", "Mattinata", etc. Anthony performs his arrangements either as a solo artist or in small combos (duos, trios, and quartets), and his musical services have been requested for private events, museums, yoga centers, music venues, restaurants, weddings, parties, and virtual concerts/live streams.

Anthony has also worked as a side-man for well-known NYC singer-song writers. His latest project, "The Beveled Edges" is a co-writing duo with New York City singer/song-writer, Shelly Bhushan. Shelly and Anthony share in the writing of lyrics, melodies, and harmonies; combining Shelly's powerful vocals and Anthony's finger style skills on 7-string guitar to produce unique and beautiful songs that are expressions of their influences and shared sensibility. Anthony has performed at several reputable venues/festivals/stages including Joe's Pub, Drom, The Historic Milford Theatre, World Trade Center, New York Public Library, New York Botanical Gardens, Mohegan Sun, Flushing Town Hall, The New Britain Museum of Art, The Living Room, Rockwood Music Hall, The Slipper Room, The Bitter End, Pianos, Rittenhouse Soundworks, Viva La Comida Festival and the Michigan Arts, Beats, and Eats Festival.
